Who are you?

I lead the PR team at Dentsu America.  Beyond that, I’m just someone who wants to do good work, do well by my family, friends and fellow citizens, and get the most out of life for as long as I’m able.

What is innovation to you?

The opposite of doing the same thing expecting a different result.

Name 5 things you love to death.

John Williams’ sublime Film Nights at Tanglewood.
The magnificent Kenrokuen gardens in Kanazawa, Japan.
Dan Savage’s savagely funny “The Kid.”
The joyride through hell scherzo of Shostakovich’s 10th.
Meryl Streep’s gleeful channeling of Julia Child in “Julie & Julia.”

What will your autobiography be titled?

No Time for Pigeons.

What is cool?

Civility.

Tell us a secret.

The press release is not dead.

  • Jim Miller

    SVP, Managing Director

  • Trained in theatre, Jim Miller did what any actor would do. He parlayed his theatrical ambitions to the public relation’s stage. His career began at Burson-Marsteller, where he learned the discipline from the firm’s joint venture with Dentsu. He then moved to Vorhaus & Co. before striking out on his own as a consultant, and eventually rejoined Dentsu.

Jim spearheads communications programs for clients in the nonprofit, education, technology, food, beverage and travel sectors. Some of his blue-chip brands include Siemens, Canon and Nestlé.

Spending his teens in Germany, Jim studied at The Crane School of Music and holds a BFA from NYU. He is also the author of Cigar Family: A 100 Year Journey in the Cigar Industry. A confirmed movie buff, he owns a piece of the Death Star model used in Return of the Jedi.
