Who are you?
I’m Miriam. The Welsh daughter of two awesome hippies, who grew up in England, with a Scottish last name, who now lives in an Irish neighborhood in Yonkers.
What is innovation to you?
Something which astonishes me with its creation, but at the same time, when I reflect on its existence, I realize I couldn't imagine life without it.
What will your autobiography be titled?
Why a Cup of Tea and a Piece of Cake Can Cure Everything.
Give us a recipe. (For anything.)
Mulled Wine
Ingredients:
2 bottles red wine
8 ounces brandy
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
The zest of 1 large orange
Garnish with cinnamon sticks
Throw all ingredients in a Le Creuset or a big non-stick pot and bring to a simmer. Do not allow mixture to boil (or you’ll lose all the alcohol, and then what’s the point). Heat for 20 minutes and prepare yourself for a massive hangover.
What is cool?
New York City -- for accepting everyone it meets. My Granny -- for telling inappropriate jokes to anyone who’ll listen at the age of 94. Knitwear.
Tell us a secret.
My name is Miriam, and I’m a Dawson’s Creek fan. It’s a shameful secret I carry with me. It affects the lives of those around me and has caused a lot of pain for my friends and family who have, at one time or another, been forced to witness multiple episodes of poorly acted teen drama. At this point, all I can do is apologize.
