How does Asia’s largest chain of convenience stores launch their brand in the United States?

With over 16,000 Family Mart stores worldwide, when entering the U.S. market, they decided to focus on first establishing their Famima!! subsidiary in and around Los Angeles. With five of their nine stores located in downtown L.A., Dentsu crafted a media strategy that would target these locations, in order to maximize effectiveness in raising brand awareness and driving store traffic.

In May 2009, we helped Famima!! make their presence known through a station domination of the 7th Street / Metro Center station, along with interior cards in metro trains, transit shelter ads and bus kings. Clean, vibrant design and humorous copy delivered strong creative that reinforced the Famima!! personality, all while echoing their over-arching message: “You’ll be surprised at what you find at Famima.”
